"And he said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" - Matthew 22:37-9
"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also." - John 12:24-6
Following Jesus ought to be a holistic, joyful, and deep act of devotion. The Christian life is not merely intellectual, yet neither is it solely about gaining an emotional high. We believe discipleship includes worshipping God with our minds - through study and discussion - as well as with our hearts and souls. Moreover, it is not an individual enterprise, but a communal process where we "bear our burdens", weeping with those who weep and rejoicing with those who rejoice.
